Boycott

This past weekend the temperature rose and suddenly everyone was wearing shorts and t-shirts. As I looked around it seemed every guy was wearing cargo shorts, I missed the memo, clearly. And to top it off most of them were khaki/puddy color. Waiting for my bagel and surrounded by all these khaki cargo wearing drones I decided to boycott the cargo shorts I bought a few years ago. I always complained they were to billowy and didn't like the fit and this was the straw that broke the camel's back. I've included this picture of a page in April's Men's Vogue, now a supplement to Vogue. Here are a variety of summer appropriate options other than cargo shorts. On the right hand side there are some corduroy shorts that inspired me to cut my old cords and give them new life.

The More The Merrier

Some other Tim Walker pictures that make me smile.

Pro-EARTH

I don't know why I've been so excited about Earth Day. In the last couple of years I've noticed new habits I've developed to be more conscious, pro-active, and responsible. Some of the little things I'm doing are not using shopping bags when I check out at the grocery store or retail store and unplugging my lap top when I'm done with it. A new one is to buy a reusable water bottle. What are some of your pro-earth habits?

1 Shoot Many Stories

Magazine- GQ Style (UK)
Photographer- Chad Pitman
Stylist- Garth Spencer
Stylist Assistant- Alejandro Lopez

Models-Brittain Ward at Wilhelmina; David Agbogji at Request; Alan and Reid at Red; Kerry Degman at Major

Part of the magic created in a magazine is the different stories told within the images in its pages. I assisted Garth Spencer in this shoot at Milk Studios. The theme of the clothes was American Sports inspired. As you can see the interpretations take you all over the place in black and white and bold colors with graphics. This is only a sample of pictures for your consideration. (Now I see these models everywhere be it in the park or in every other magazine.)

Recession Special

Some habits like shopping might be hard to control a mist the state of the economy. A few days ago a friend and I went to a near by thrift shop and we had a blast. The place was clean and had great oldies blaring from the radio, think Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and some old Michael Jackson, before all the plastic surgery. I think we spent over two hours walking up and down the aisles. It was like going down other people's memory lane through clothes. I just couldn't believe some things that were there. Why would someone ever buy high heeled timberland looking boots in sky blue or in any color for that matter? I left with a navy pinstriped vest and two books and it didn't even add up to five bucks...now that's a bargain. So head to your local DI, Salvation Army, Goodwill, or Value Village and feed your habit on the cheap.
