What I'm Up To Now

Bags full of samples
Samples = Clothes lent out by showrooms

This has been a very action packed week and its not over yet! There's been a lot happening work-wise and blog related so stay tuned for interviews, photo shoots and more. I'm prepping for two shoots and samples are pulled, models casted, photographer and groomer booked and all the other logistically accepts of putting together an editorial are still getting worked out. That's my life right now in a nut shell and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Platon

When preparing for a shoot take a moment to learn about the photographer and pay attention to the styling he prefers. Here are some pictures by Platon who will be the photographer on Saturday's shoot.

Have you ever dragged a picture on to you desktop? If you own a mac you might have answered in the affirmative. I did this with the picture below with the row of guys. I usually see a series of nonsense numbers but this time I saw a name, Francesco Carrozzini. I looked through his website, really glad I did. I love making discoveries of new sources inspiration.

Alice in Wonderland

In 2003 Grace Coddington, Natalia Vodianova, and Annie Leibovitz got together along with some great designers to bring to life Alice in Wonderland for Vogue and my life has never been the same since I saw it. The second image left an impression on me, I was absolutely filled with awe. I knew then that I wanted be part of that world that creates such worlds on print. Images were found at haute macabre.

Jumping Jacks

Something I've been thinking about lately is movement within a fashion editorial its so easy to have a man be stagnant. This post also gave me chance to discover a new photographer, Laurent Humbert. Check out his website.

Inspired by Tim Walker

Color me surprised when I put two and two together and found out that most of my inspiration pictures on my blog were from the same photographer, Tim Walker. The picture above appeared on the January 08 issue of Vanity Fair. I love how the subject in the picture is not facing the camera, the not so average setting, and don't get me started on his use of color. You can see more of his whimsically beautiful work here.
