In this installment of the San Francisco travel guide I invite you to do a little exploring in the neighborhood called The Mission. Although, I had never been to that area it was very easy to find my way around. One of the places on my list, was the store UnionMade. They've been mentioned by GQ on their 100 things to know this summer.
En este proximo segmento del guía para San francisco les invito a que vallan al barrio llamado The Mission. Aunque nunca había estado allí fue fácil encontrar lo. Uno de los sitios en mi lista fue la tienda UnionMade. La revista GQ los menciono como uno de las 100 cosas que debes saber este verano.
You can find them on the corner of 18th street and Sanchez street. The curation of brands is a mix of urban and outdoor with some very interesting Japanese brands. They carry Filson and Gant Rugger but also had brands I've never heard of before like Caputo & Co. and Duluth bags. Ladies, do not dismay they have a small section of women's wear and have plans to open up a women's store in the near future.
Los puedes encontrar en la esquina de la 18 calle y la calle Sanchez. Encontraras una mezcla de marcas urbanas y de marcas mas rusticas incluso marcas japonesas. Ellos tienes las marcas Filson y Gant Rugger pero también otras marcas desconocidas como Caputo & Co. y Duluth bags. Señoritas no se preocupen ellos si tienen ropa de damas y pronto habríran una tienda para damas.
Once your done there, walk down 18th street and you'll find this beautiful building. Walk a couple of more blocks and you'll find world renown bakery Tartine. Be aware there is no sign outside. Anything you eat there will be amazing; I especially loved the coconut macaroons.
Ya que estas por ahí, camina por la calle 18 y encontraras este bello edificio. Camina par de calles mas para ir a Tartine, una famosa repostería. Cuidado, no hay un letrero. Cualquier cosa que escojas será delicioso; a mi especialmente me gustaron los macaroons de coco.
The main reason I was heading down there was for a small Venezuelan place I heard of called Pica Pica. Their menu is small but their stuff is so good. I tried one of each kind of empanadas they had!
La razón que estaba en ese barrio era por un restauran venezolano llamado Pica Pica. El menú es pequeño pero todo es muy rico. yo probé cada sabor de empanadas que tenían disponible!

On the way there I saw this. Freemans Sporting Club is also in San Francisco and yes they have a barber and a small store in the back. It totally reminded me of the Bowery in NYC. What does this all mean? It means you should go down to The Mission pronto. As you can see there are some amazing places to visit and there are a bunch of other stores around especially vintage shops.
En la misma calle vi esto, que Freemans Sporting Club se encuentra también en San Francisco y si tienen peluqueros y una tiendita en la parte de atrás. Totalmente me recordó de la tienda en Nueva York. Que quiere decir todo esto? Quiere decir que tienes que ir a este barrio y explorar. Como puedes ver hay sitios bien interesantes de visitar y hay muchas mas tiendas especialmente tiendas de segunda mano.
