When I went to OKLAHOMA!

Little did I know that life was going to take me to Oklahoma but there I was, last week, to support my brother as he graduated from boot camp for the Army. As any proud brother who is also a blogger would do I went scouting for a cool spot to take pictures while he was getting debriefed. Driving around the area this beautiful building turned up. It used to be a high school and is now used as a municipal building. If you ever find yourself in those neck of the woods do not dismay there are a few things you should do and local places you should eat at. Let's start with dessert, do go to Braum's. This place has cheap and delicious desserts and is kind of like a bodega too. For an actual meal go to Back Porch Draft House, everything we got there was delicious. Lastly, make sure to go to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. This city slicker was in awe of the majestic bison and the beautiful landscape. All in all, I had a great time and will not lie when I tell you that I also went to Outback and Chuck E. Cheese because, family. I'll do anything for family.

I like to pack light and this Fjall Raven duffle was ideal for this short trip.

Sunglasses were a must during this trip! Sunglasses- RAEN

This shirt was perfect for the dry 80 degrees in Oklahoma. Shirt- Life/After/Denim

A Cup Of Hot Chocolate

Denim jacket- Denim & Supply | T-shirt Mack Weldon | Jeans- Jacob Davis | Sun Glasses- Classic Specs

Are you still hesitating in wearing denim on denim? Don't over think it. The simple rule to break this rule of denim on denim is for the washes or colors of the denim need to be different. What you don't want is for it to look like you are wearing a denim suit with the washes being identical. And do try out new colors for your t-shirts like this one from Mack Weldon.

Outfit of the Day: December

photographer- Fern Lodeiro

We are well into December and you don't have to think twice about walking around with just a denim jacket and hoodie. This is what I would typically wear to do my errands in the city. The cargo pants from Original Penguin fit like a glove and the extra pockets make it so practical for my keys and cell phone. My new Penfield hoodie is great for layering and so soft. As you know I've been addicted to my denim jacket for most of the year and I don't see that diminishing any time soon. Did I ever tell you how comfortable my Puma's are? Well, they are. Spend your day about town in style and comfort with these great pieces.

Outfit of the Day: New Year's Eve

It's here, New Year's Eve and if you decided to go out and celebrate but barely have time to think of what would be appropriate here is one look you can easily copy. I thought this year I'd try a more sophisticated outfit. I decided on wearing a Jack Wills charcoal suit because it's such a classic color and you seriously can't go wrong with that. My shirt is a patchwork plaid shirt from ASOS- any plaid shirt will do the trick. For the bow tie I decided to go with this great olive green one from Men In Cities. The bow tie gives the look color without being obnoxious. Not sure if you're a bow tie kind of guy, then wear a solid tie. Either way you'll look good ushering in the new year!

Me puse una pajarita verde oliva de Men In Cities. La corbata de lazo le da color al look sin ser muy llamativo. Si no estas seguro si la pajarita es tu estilo ponte una corbata eso si, tiene que ser un color solido. Cualquiera que decidas te veras bien dandole la bien venida al año nuevo!

Fall Must-Have: Selvedge Denim

Finally, fall is in full swing! With that said one of my must-haves this fall is selvedge denim like these from True Religion. I love the color and it looks great for errands during the day or for a night out with friends. Mixing genres a bit to keep things interesting I partnered a preppy cable knit sweater from Jack Wills with rugged steel toe boots from Cat footwear. What are your fall must-haves?

Note- The Cat footwear boots will be available Spring/Summer 2014. Make sure to check out their site for more great looks.

New York Fashion week is right around the corner and the excitement is building because I'll get to attend some of the shows! Here are a few pieces I'll bring with me. They're classic, versatile and will add a little something to my outfits.

Bag- Edison MFG | Laptop- Apple | Camera- Samsung | Notebook- Unionmade | Pen- Muji

Of course there are certain accessories that I can't live without during fashion week. As you can see I'm a little old school by needing a notebook to write things down but I also need my laptop to blog, tumble, and edit photographs of what's happening around me. Also, there will be a lot of sharing next week or so here on the blog and I'll also be writing some special posts for Rue La La's blog for fashion week!
