The Alton Lane Sartorial Experience

NYC Showroom
No matter your level of sartorial knowledge Alton Lane is the place to go not just for your suiting needs but also for shirts, ties and even pocket squares. I had the chance to visit their New York City location and see for myself the location and all that it has to offer. One of it's crown jewels is the 3D body scanner. I had them scan me, you know, to get the full experience. The scan is quick and reminded me of the fountains at the Bellagio (you'll have to try it out to find out why) which provides all the measurements needed to make the best fitting suit/shirt. Once your measurements are recorded you can go on to choose the fabrics from some of the best mills in Europe. There are a variety of samples of the styles on hand to choose for your future suit and shirt so you know exactly what you're getting and might see something new to try out.

DC Showroom

Their mission at Alton Lane is to create a space where men can feel comfortable to hangout and shop. With a flat screen TV, bar and even a not-so-secret poker room (at the NYC location) you'll have a great time while getting an awesome suit. Don't worry, they have locations all over the US and are planning on opening a few more in the very near future.

#TBT Roberto Bolle And Friends Gala Press Conference

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to attend the press conference for the Roberto Bolle And Friends Gala event at the Italian consulate. It was a memorable experience not only because it was my first press conference but I got to see how important the celebration of Italian culture is to the people in attendance.

In addition to the Consul General of Italy, Natalia Quintavalle who welcomed everyone to the press conference, Gabriella Scarpa, President of Acqua di Parma spoke about Italian Culture and the Gala event. She said "I am more than proud to support the Italian culture and particularly, Roberto Bolle, one of the worlds greatest dancers and the undisputed Ambassador of the highest artistic and cultural expression of our country."

Roberto Bolle said, "I am proud to be the art director of the 'Roberto Bolle and Friends Gala,' because I think it perfectly represents the culture and the beauty of the Italian people and of my country"

Not only was I  nervous about my first time at a press conference I was also concerned about what I was going to wear. I decided to keep it simple and chic with shades of gray. I felt completely comfortable in a trouser, dress shirt and tie. At the press conference I wasn't over dressed nor under dressed which is just how I like it.

What I Wore | Neutral Patterns

Shirt Hugh & Crye | Pants JCrew | Tie Club Monaco | Shoes Chuck Taylors

As I was looking through the Hugh & Crye website I saw a lot of great shirts. All I was thinking about is how I didn't want another white or blue shirt. Luckily, they have a wide variety of colors and cuts. I chose the Mather, it's a perfect light grey grid pattern and it'll transition from summer to fall with ease. The color and small pattern lend itself to be considered a neutral color. I think a wide variety of ties will go great with this shirt because of the light shade and size of the pattern; they wont compete with each other. The fit is great, it's comfortable and I can make a lot of combinations with it- three very important things.

Cuando visite el sitio de web de Hugh & Crye vi muchas camisas. Yo no quería otra camisa blanca o azul.

Love the combination of stripes with the grid.

It's Awesome to Be Unruly (Heir)

Unruly Heir S/S 2013

When I was asked if I'd like to visit the Unruly Heir showroom I immediately jumped at the chance. I met with Joey, John and Kan the talent behind the brand. The Sex and Safari Spring/Summer 2013 collection continues the irreverent take on preppy by adding the Unruly Heir spin on the everyman's classic pieces like the short sleeve shirt, henley and swim trunks. In the collection you'll find cool paisley prints and original illustrations by John. In addition to apparel they're delving in to new territory - beautiful pocket squares with unconventional images found in archives like elephants and zebras or three men holding up a ten foot snake in the 1920's in Africa. Want to add something awesome to your wardrobe? You'll be sure to find it here.

These are some of my favorite looks from the collection:

The Seersucker Hoodie is their signature piece.

Love the prints on the back pocket and sweater.

Great detailing in the lining.

¿Quieres añadir algo especial a tu guardarropa? Estarás seguro de encontrarlo aquí.
