British GQ features Downton Abbey

Earlier this year, guest blogger Alex B. wrote how the Edwardian period television show Downton Abbey influenced the F/W 2012 men's collections. She emailed me as soon as she spotted this editorial from the December issue of British GQ featuring the male cast of the show wearing looks from those same collections they probably helped inspire. It's Beautifully done. Images found here.

GQ UK went all the way to Malaysia to photograph these great looks for the beach. With clothes from GANT, Tommy Hilfiger, Lanvin, Burberry and others you'll be looking good in the sun.

White Heat

Sophisticated and timeless editorial from GQ UK. On a side note, Jo Levin who styled this is the only stylist I know and assisted without a smart phone of some kind and when I went to their offices in London she doesn't even have a computer at her desk. What would that be like? Photographer- Koto Bolofo, Model- Danny Beauchamp

Like I mentioned earlier challenges change from shoot to shoot. Spring and summer looks are great and are mainly composed of linen, silk and cotton. One has to have a sense of humor when the fabric of a particular garment doesn't like to cooperate. The steamer and iron became my allies and as you can see we kicked butt. The clothes looked crisp and ready for their close up. I joked with the models especially the one with the light blue metallic silk pants to not move between shoots. Here are Some of my pics from the the shoot.

After looking at the pics I took and the final product I appreciate the time the photographer's assistant take to get the lighting just right. They make it look so easy.
