Get Collegiate Stripes

The college stripe scarf originated across the pond and was then inherited by the ivy league schools. Now anyone with style can wear them. I love the boldness of the stripes against the solid sweater. Go ahead be a little old school with your scarf. Men in Fragrance Ads 2012

These last couple of days have been filled with more buzz about men's fragrances than usual. First, it was Brian Shimansky @BShimans from Soul artist management, staring on Versace's Eros fragrance campaign shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot.

Then Arthur Kulkov at Request Models was named the face of the new fragrance for men by Tommy Hilfiger, Freedom.

And lastly, although not a men's fragrance Brad Pitt has been tapped to be the new face of Chanel No.5. When the commercial, shot by Joe Wright, came out all I read on twitter was how bad and awkward it was. For me the awkwardness is not so much that a man is promoting it but that he seems confused as he's describing this existential thought about the perfume. Take a look and tell me what you think?

The cover instantly spoke to me especially after finding out that they are father and son. The styling is on point and totally age appropriate. After NYFW I've been liking more and more the monochromatic looks. An all black look like the Givenchy look Andre is wearing is as elegant as ever.

La portada inmediatamente me impacto especialmente después que descubrí que son padre e hijo. El estilismo es totalmente apropiado considerando la diferencia de edades. Después de New York Fashion Week me ha estado gustando mas y mas los looks monocromáticos. El look de Givenchy que tiene puesto Andre me parece clásico e elegante.

This Fall the go-to item is the quilted vest. JCrew has a great one, once you try it on you'll love it. It's light weight and comes in Navy and Vintage Fatigue. Last year Darren Criss was styled in the pages of GQ for exactly this reason, to give us some ideas on how to dress for these occasions.

Notice the black leather lace up. I suggest you go to a cobbler and get your shoes shined and they'll look just like new. A bow tie is so classy and a pocket square gives it that finishing touch with a tie or bow tie.

This picture is more as a reference and to know that you do have options in what shoes you can pair with your suit. In this case they show the suit with Cole Haan saddle shoes. Bucks are also a great option, as I've mentioned here.
