White Briefs: The Next Generation

With so many new fabric, colors and style options for men's underwear out there I came to think that the good ol' white brief deserves a second chance. I was not alone. After searching high and low these are what I call the next generation of white briefs.  

Henley- GENTS | Briefs- Lacoste

New to the pack is Lacoste. Known for their crocodile and great sportswear they added a new category, men's underwear. They come in a variety of styles including briefs in pique. Expect to find more great colors and styles on their site.

Tank- Lucio Castro | Briefs- About Baltic Underwear | Necklace- George Frost

Coming to us from across the pond is ABOUT Baltic Underwear. What makes them special is their minimalist design which includes no logo. Also, their briefs are innovative in a natural way as some are made with beeswax finish and others with an aloe vera finish.

Sweater- Todd Snyder x Champion | Briefs- 2(x)ist | Bracelet- George Frost

New to 2(x)ist this spring is their SPEED collection. These briefs are coined as no-show briefs because they rest 2 inches below the hips. The no wicking fabric and micro-perforated mesh fabric insets on sides are ideal for the more athletic lifestyle.

Garcon Model is all about sexy and comfortable style- it's a fine balance they've mastered. One of my favorite features is that the briefs are tag less. The nylon elastan blend make for a luxurious feel.

With athletic comfort in mind Saxx has engineered briefs with a microfiber mesh structure that promotes airflow. If Saxx is new to you, they are known for their ergonomic comfort pouch. I've personally heard someone say it feels like a hammock, well, I'm slightly paraphrasing.

This is so far one of the collaborations I'm most looking forward to this year, Todd Snyder + Champion. "The debut collection, entitled "City Gym", is inspired by archival Champion pieces and vintage photos from New York Athletic Club." The Collection will consist of 35 pieces including garment dyed t-shirts, vintage thermal long sleeve crew, waxed duffle coats and more. Now you have one more thing to look forward to this fall. Get out of that rut of always reaching out for your black coat or black anything for that matter. This Saturdays NYC parka will go perfectly with everything in your closet and will help you stick out in the crowd in a good way. While you're at it get some pieces with red details like this GANT by Michael Bastian sweater, Todd Snyder plaid shirt and some cool Beats by Dr.Dre headphones. Bring it all together by wearing some raw denim jeans like these from the GAP. You see, you can stay warm look good and not have to wear black to do it.

Although summer has not left us yet here is glimpse of some of the looks for Todd Snyder's fall/winter 2012 collection. The earthy color palette will make it easy to transition in to fall and add on to your existing wardrobe. My two favorite pieces are the cargo pants and the peacoat, what a great fit. Aunque el verano todavía esta aquí toma un vistazo a los looks de la colección de Todd Snyder para el otoño/invierno 2012. Los colores marrón, crema, y verde oliva permiten una transición mas sutil al otoño y para añadir a tu guardarropa. Mis dos piezas favoritas son los pantalones cargo y el peacoat el corte es excelente.

This small checkered pattern called gingham needs a little more attention than it usually gets. It's so easy to change it up, you can make it appropriate for work or for a night out and even for a hike. Gingham comes in a variety of sizes, I think the smaller the squares the more versatility. One last thing, do not be afraid to mix it, as you can see gingham and stripes look mighty fine together.

Este patron de cuadros se llama gingham y hay que prestarle un poco mas de atencion. Es bien facil de hacerlo apropiado para diferentes ocasiones ya sea para el trabajo, para una salida, o para ir de paseo. Gingham viene en una variedad de tamaños, dependiendo en el tamaño la mas variedad de uso tiene. Por ultimo, no tengas miedo de mezclar gingham con rayas como puedes ver ellos se llevan de los mas bien juntos.
