NYC's Spring Palette

Spring is officially here but sadly, it seems some places have not received the memo! NYC is one of those places, so here we are, yearning warmer weather but having to still wear our winter gear. I've found a few pieces that will help you during these days of climatic uncertainty. For starters, I found this rich blue windbreaker from Robert Graham, the perfect extra layer during spring. This winter  season, turtlenecks have been the MVP and the grey ribbed turtleneck from Life After Denim is keeping me nice and warm even during spring. If you are looking for a cap to add to your collection Gents always has a wide variety. I love this wool stripe one that gives me that extra bit of warmth on the old noggin.

Must-Have Accessories for Fall 16

The weather has been all over the place but we are finally feeling the temperatures drop! That means it's time to get yourself some great accessories for the season. I've looked high and low and found some scarves, beanies, watches, sunglasses and even a backpack that will have you ready and stylish for whatever mother nature throws at you this season.

Get the combo deal. This scarf and beanie from the GAP is classic and easy to add on to your wardrobe. (Watch- Nixon)

Think of the Cuff. Make sure to have a cool cuff like this one from George Frost, it goes perfect with a great time piece like this Nixon watch. Let's not forget to include a cap from Gents for that extra cool factor.

White Briefs: The Next Generation

With so many new fabric, colors and style options for men's underwear out there I came to think that the good ol' white brief deserves a second chance. I was not alone. After searching high and low these are what I call the next generation of white briefs.  

Henley- GENTS | Briefs- Lacoste

New to the pack is Lacoste. Known for their crocodile and great sportswear they added a new category, men's underwear. They come in a variety of styles including briefs in pique. Expect to find more great colors and styles on their site.

Coming to us from across the pond is ABOUT Baltic Underwear. What makes them special is their minimalist design which includes no logo. Also, their briefs are innovative in a natural way as some are made with beeswax finish and others with an aloe vera finish.

Guys, there's no need to be afraid of leather- it's always been a part of men's fashion. These days you'll find leather in new ways so you'll have more options. Here are a few new and some classic ways we can come to make leather part of a man's fall wardrobe.

New York Men's Day Designer's Inspirations

New York Fashion Week is right around the corner. Invitations are being sent, models casted, clothes fitted, so many details in preparation for the big event! Before the clothes can walk down the runway it all starts with a sketch and an inspiration. The following are some of the designers that will be showing on New York Men's day, September 3rd. Just by these sketches I can see we have a lot to look forward to.

LUCIO CASTRO

"The forlorn nostalgia of Soviet summers in destinations like Odessa and Sopot is at the heart of  the SS15 collection"

CARLOS CAMPOS

"Inspired by the Spanish "Public Space Artist" El Tono (The Tone).  Carlos Campos applied the artist's techniques to his designs by overlaying geometric treatments over his classic pieces while maintaining the same attention to detail and tailoring with a sense of movement."

DAVID HART

"SS15 is inspired by Palm Springs and the idea of desert modernity - minimal lines and dusty colors."

GENTS

“Gents Spring ’15 collection was inspired by the athletic and masculine elements of the sport of boxing and the clean lines and colors of Formula One Racing.”

ORIGINAL PENGUIN

"For Spring 2015, Original Penguin takes inspiration from the energetic and glamorous Magic City itself: late 1950’s Miami. The color palette blends chromatic reds and vibrant greens with a splash of aqua and soft pinks, providing a contrast reminiscent of the saturated colors of beachfront homes set against the soft pastel colors of Miami’s art-deco streets."

Last week during NYFW at Gramercy Terrace, Gramercy Park Hotel, Chad White along with Melissa Bolona co-hosted the awesome GENTS Launch party. The great music was provided by DJ Javier Peral and Celeste Greenberg. There were pictures taken left and right of the hosts and everyone was having a great time celebrating the websites launch. GENTS is an e-commerce website where you can find the highest quality and upscale baseball caps that can be custom-build. "Made of the finest fabrications, these caps exude a minimal and clean aesthetic that is still masculine and fashion forward,"founder Josh Reed.
