Pier59 Studio Turns 20

On October 27 the fashion community gathered to celebrate Pier59 Studio's 20th anniversary. Pier59 opened its doors in 1995 and since then there have been over 50,000 photoshoots within its doors. The event was hosted by Fern Mallis, creator of New York Fashion Week.

Fern Mallis

I remember when I freelanced for GQ and going to Pier59 with racks and racks of clothes and being part of some amazing editorials. Now, for this event I was invited to attend as media to cover the celebration and to boot I styled a couple of their guests including Sean Harju and Nathaniel Visser from Soul Artist Management

The guys and gal from SOUL ARTIST MANAGEMENT: From left to right- Nathaniel Visser, Filip Wolfe, Greg Chan (Agent), Xander Evitts, Leah Heyman (Agent), Melchior Domenique, Christophe Sanchez-Vahle (Agent), Sean Harju, Bryce Thompson, Justin Hopwood

For Natahniel Visser the goal was to have him in a cool but smart look. He's wearing his own jeans partnered with a blazer from Scott Langton and a Prada shirt. Sean Harju went for an all black look. He is wearing a black jacquard tuxedo jacket from Bonobos with a Calvin Klein shirt. Here's a closer look at Sean's look.

With over 200 models in a attendance they both stood out for all the right reasons.

Here's to many more years of creating iconic images at Pier59! Congrats on this great milestone.

A Guide To The Bonobos Guideshop

You're probably familiar with Bonobos' website and catalog and well you should be. Although they are known for great fitting chinos, Bonobos offers a wide variety of clothes for golf to the beach to even black tie affairs. Recently, they've expanded the world of Bonobos and started opening Guideshops throughout the U.S including their newest addition of their flagship Guideshop on 5th Ave, in New York City. I visited their Brookfield Place and the 5th Ave Guideshop locations. They're both great and worth checking out! Here's what to expect and how to get the most out of your first appointment.

The first floor of the new 5th Avenue Guideshop in NYC.

The second floor of the 5th Avenue Guideshop's Suiting destination.

Get the lay of the land...
No matter the size of the Guideshop take your time and walk the whole store and soak it all in. In addition to the meticulous details on the clothes you'll also see it in the design and how they curate each Guideshop.

Ask questions...
The Guides are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, they know the products and fits like the back of their hands. They will not steer you wrong.

Step out of the fitting room...
There are no mirrors in the fitting rooms (gasp!) You'll have to come out of the fitting room to see how you look in front of the 3 way mirror. The Guides will be able to better help you determine if that's the best fit, style or color for you.

Leave happy...
Once you figure out what are the best fits the next step is selecting your favorite colors or patterns. Bonobos loves color and patterns, and you'll love their options.

Everything you've chosen is just a click away...
The Guides will place your order and within a couple of days it'll get delivered to you home or office. As simple as that!

Short Sleeves Shirts at The Miami Design District

As I was on my way to the airport on my latest visit to Miami, I decided to check out my high school alma mater's neighborhood, the Miami Design District. I was amazed to see how much it had changed for the better. Where there would be small independent galleries or vacant spaces there's a Tom Ford and Dior shop opening. They don't stick out that much as right across the street you can find  Givenchy, Burberry and even a Loewe boutique amongst other luxury brands. In the middle of all this there is a courtyard with a huge bubbly sculpture very similar to what you might've seen at the Dior Cruise collection show just a few days ago. So what do you wear to a place like this? Keep it classy and simple and because of the humidity South Florida is famous for a short sleeve shirt is perfect. Oh, and make sure to walk over to the neighborhood of Wynwood to check out all the impressive street art too.

Shirt and Pants- Bonobos | Sunglasses - Garrett Leight California Optical | Shoes- Aldo | Suitcase- Burton

One of the smartest travel decisions I've made is taking this Burton suitcase with me. After years of traveling this bag's wheels are so smooth it glides and everything I need fits. It's the ideal bag.

Sneak Peek at Bonobos Spring 2015

At the Bonobos Spring '15 Presentation I got to see their take on what we'll want to wear next spring. You'll find All-American pieces like the denim jacket in a variety of shades. Florals, will also make an appearance in not-so-subtle patterns but in an ever-so-cool vibe. The collection is all about layering and using great natural fabrics. You'll be set to spend a chilly night at the Hampton's or Martha's Vineyard or for the hot days which are sure to come. Here are a few of the looks that caught my eye.

Spring and stripes are always going to go hand in hand.

Cord shorts, yep, you should try them out too.

If you don't already get yourself some white denim.

This cardigan is a great transitional piece.

This suit looks even better in person.

Bonobos Spring/Summer 2014

During the spring and summer months we long for fall and winter. Now that the temperature is in the 40's on the east coast I'm sure some of you are longing for the summer to be back. During #SneakPeekWeek you'll see some pieces from a variety of labels that will help you look cool next season and give you something to look forward to all winter long.

On the first installment of #SneakPeekWeek on Adentro Style you'll get to see a few of my favorite pieces from Bonobos. Now, Bonobos used to be all about chinos and basics but they are expanding their selection and bringing you more great choices in menswear. During the fashion presentation held at the rooftop of Hotel Americano the models stood poolside and gave us a glimpse of whats to come. Take a moment and check out!

At a glance you can see cotton suits, graphic short and shirts are a big part of the collection.

Partnering a bold print with a classic blazer is the best way to balance it all out.

From their look book you can see all the great colors their chinos will come in?

Two pieces that caught my eye- the trench coat and suede bomber!

Another look at the suede bomber as it's partnered with a chambray popover .

This look shows a little of everything you'll love from the S/S14 collection.

The amazing view from the rooftop of Hotel Americano.
