ic! berlin in Miami

One of the main reasons I keep writing this blog is because I keep learning about amazing brands. Here is one more for all of you to know, ic! berlin. They're a German eyewear brand that makes frames by hand and lightweight materials. You thought people stopped doing that years ago- I'm sure. I took a few frames with me on my latest trip back home to Miami. While I was discovering the neighborhood of Wynwood in Downtown Miami they fit in just fine amongst all the surrounding art work.

Love the color of the Ostbahnhof

It's name suits it just fine, Eye-popping.

You know, I wouldn't head to Miami without some cool shades!
Take a look at all the other great style at icic! berlin's website! Stat.

A Week With Frameri

I was invited to try out Frameri, a Cincinnati based eyewear company and meet with founder Konrad Billetz in NYC. It was a pleasure to meet Konrad and talk about what motivated him to start Frameri. I'm always up for a great origin story and like any great origin story we have to go back to the protagonists childhood. At the age of 11, Konrad was shot in the eye by a BB gun. Doctors said he was going to go blind, but he didn't. Unfortunately, he was left with bad eye sight and has worn glasses ever since and with that the frustrations that come with having to get glasses. In July of 2014 he launched Frameri, a site where anyone can go and find a variety of styles handmade in Italy to choose from. What makes them different is that the eyewear is designed from an industrial design perspective so you can replace the lenses. Which means you won't have to get new glasses as your prescription changes. Just get new lenses or you can get more frames and just switch the lenses, either way its a win-win. Speaking of switching lenses- that's exactly what I've been up to this past week. I wore the Drebbel frames and switched lenses depending on my mood, weather, activity etc etc. Loved it.

With the possibility of traveling to San Francisco in a few months my mind is wandering. This shoot is a little story of a tourist in a foreign land while wearing some really cool glasses and hats. Are you going on a trip soon?

Con la posibilidad de ir de viaje a San Francisco en par de meses mi mente esta distraído con eso. Este editorial es un pequeña historia de un turista en un sitio lejano usando unos lentes y sombreros bien chevere. Tienes planes de ir de viaje pronto?

Warby Parker Glasses by the Girls with Glasses

Last week I mentioned how great The Girls with Glasses videos are. Their most recent installment features Warby Parker glasses! As you know I love to talk about their glasses, here and here. Take a moment and listen as The Girls in Glasses, Summer Bellesa and Brooke White interview some of the founders.

A good friend of mine will be moving to Denmark very soon. And she will be hoping the nordic states for a while. I'll call her the nordic girl but for some she is also known as Miss B soon to be Mrs. B. She posted pictures of these interior in her blog and it got me thinking about yellow and blue and suddenly I wanted to post all these images together.
