What I Wore | The Puffer Vest + Blazer Combo

It's not everyday one does a "What I Wore" photo shoot at night. Luckily, the pictures were taken by Anthony so I knew they would turn out well. This was my first attempt at layering a puffer vest over a blazer and I loved it. It was not as bulky as I originally thought it would be. What do you think? Would you try it?

Last year Darren Criss was styled in the pages of GQ for exactly this reason, to give us some ideas on how to dress for these occasions.

Estas fotos nos muestran el gabán pero como vamos a darle personalidad? La revista GQ es el sitio ideal para referencias e inspiración, tienes suerte que yo he mencionado lo que necesitas. Notice the black leather lace up. I suggest you go to a cobbler and get your shoes shined and they'll look just like new. A bow tie is so classy and a pocket square gives it that finishing touch with a tie or bow tie.

This picture is more as a reference and to know that you do have options in what shoes you can pair with your suit. In this case they show the suit with Cole Haan saddle shoes. Bucks are also a great option, as I've mentioned here.

Traveling is one of my favorite things. After living in Europe for a bit I caught the traveling bug. This trip to San Francisco is just what the doctor ordered. These are some of my travel essentials. It's going to be in the 50's so layering is a must. On this trip I'm sticking to grays and navy with the addition of the varsity jacket to break things up. Ir de viaje es una de mis cosas favoritas. Después de haber vivido en europa me acostumbre de viajar constantemente. Esta aventura a San Francisco es exactamente lo que necesito. Estos son algunas de las cosas esenciales para este viaje. La temperatura va estar en los 50's entonces es importante que tenga eso presente. Como ven mayormente tendré puesto los colores azul marino y gris y el jacket varsity para complementar. Coveting: Spring 2012

The trench coat is always on trend which makes it a classic piece. This season as I was looking around my local GAP I found the Double- Breasted Moto jacket. Its not exactly a trench coat but it has the nice blend of double breasted detailing associated with a trench coat and the edge of the motorcycle jacket. El trench coat siempre esta de moda y eso lo hace clásico. En esta temporada en lo que yo visitaba GAP encontré la chaqueta Double-Breasted Moto. No es exactamente un trench coat pero si tiene el detalle de doble botonadura que se asocia con un trench coat y tambien tiene la parte casual de un motorcycle jacket. Mi parte favorita es como me queda de largo, un poco debajo de la cintura. Para otras opciones, las dos chaquetas siguientes son de Express y John Varvatos +USA.

Do you ever read the credits of the editorials in your favorite magazines? That is where you find out where you can find all that great stuff the model/actor is wearing. There you will see such names as Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, J.Crew and one that might not be so well known, The Tie Bar. Magazines like GQ use them all the time to add that extra cool factor to their looks. Just this month they featured the pocket square from The Tie Bar, as seen above. They have the accessories you need for just the right price. You'll be able to find pocket squares ($8), ties ($15) cuff links ($20), and of course tie bars ($15). Go to their site and get something nice for yourself it will not even make a dent in your wallet.

No Collar, No Problem

The henley is something that needs to be on your radar. In this GQ editorial we can see actor Matt Bomer from the show White Collar show us different styles and ways to wear it. If there is something that guys need is to be open to more fashion choices. T shirts and button downs are not the only choices and if you own polos that is a great start. Continue to expand your wardrobe by adding some henleys, wear it under a jacket or cardigan or shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Details in May

At Ease, is featured in May's Details magazine. The whole composition is great, i think even the background enhances the clothes which is not always the case for editorials. Something that caught my attention was the collars of the t-shirts. Some are round and some v-necks but all are a lot lower than the conventional tee. Also, there is a subtle addition of patterns on the outfits be it on the pants, blazers, or shirts. At Ease, esta en la edition de mayo de la revista de Detials. La composición entera esta bien hecha, yo creo que aun el fondo en las fotos realza la ropa que no siempre es el caso con editoriales. Algo que me llamó la atencion fueron el cuello de las camisas. Algunas son redondas y otras estilo v pero todas caen muchos mas abajo que las camisas convencionales. Ademas, hay una adición sutil de patrones en los pantalones, camisas y chaquetas.

When I saw this add it reminded me of how much I love the white shirt. Look how sharp they all look. White is always ok to wear no matter what event you are going to. I think I have about 6 different white shirts, be it a tuxedo shirt, oxford, long sleeve and short sleeve, oh, the options. Wolczanka ad campaign via design scene.

Cuando vi este anuncio me recordó cuanto es que me gusta la camisa blanca. Mira lo bien que se ven. Blanco siempre es apropiado no importa el evento. Yo creo que tengo 6 camisas blancas, ya sea una camisa de esmoquin, oxford, manga larga y manga corta, oh, las opciones.
