Road Trip: New Orleans

I had seen pictures of New Orleans and they don't do it justice. It was like stepping to another country and time in history. My visit only lasted a few hours but I made the best of it by spending most of the time at the French Quarter. Jackson Square was one of the mandatory stops but I made sure to explore the surrounding streets and alleys. And of course, I could not forget to get a tasty beignet (or two) at Cafe Du Monde a couple of blocks from Jackson Square. Speaking of food I was left wanting to try more of all the delicious food New Orleans has to offer. I did get to try some jambalaya (how can you not!), andouille sausage and of course a po' boy. Needless to say, I will have to make my way back to NOLA for more than one reason.

I'm Hooked on Giles & Brother

I've mentioned previously on the blog about great accessories to wear in the summer. One of my personal favorites that I wear all the time is the Giles & Brother hook with leather lashing. The fact that the leather band wraps around your wrist a couple of times is a plus. I like to look good but also I'm low maintenance so this is a great option. Visually it looks as if you're wearing more than one bracelet. If you're wearing a t-shirt, a long sleeve shirt or short sleeve shirt like pictured here you'll be adding a cool factor with no fuss. Who doesn't want that?

El hecho que la banda de cuero se envuelve par de veces es un aspecto favorable. Para i es importante ver me bien pero también me gusta ponerme lo mínimo posible- esta pulsera es una solución. Visualmente esta pulsera de la impresión de que es mas de una. Si tienes puesto una camiseta, una camisa de manga larga o una camisa de manga corta como en esta foto estarás añadiendo algo chulo a tu look. Y quien no quiere eso?

Made In The U.S: Bluer Denim

July has come to an end and so this month's series of Made In The U.S concludes with Bluer Denim. Men's Accessories for Summer

From personal experience summer in New York is extremely humid as well as in Miami so I've had to think of ways to amp up a simple t-shirt and jeans look. Below are some options for your consideration. Try any combination of these or all of them at once. The point is that each piece is strong enough by itself or can compliment another accessory and of course what your wearing. The goal is to make a statement without having to add more layers of clothing and melt while you're outside. These suggestions will help you stay cool out there!

Giles & Brother Spring/Summer 2014

I've mentioned Giles & Brother on Adentro Style recently and since I took a look at their Spring/Summer 14 collection I haven't been able to think of much else. Nothing in the collection is over stated just cool pieces that you'd like to wear again and again all year long. The men's collection is strong with the use of everyday objects such as a safety pin, nut & bolt and their signature railroad spike. You can find all these great designs in different metals like brass and sterling silver. Take a look and let me know which ones are your favorite.

You Can Take The Boy Out Of The City

....But you can't take the city out of the boy.

On my latest trip to San Diego the first things I grabbed were all dark items something that is totally not part of Southern California's fashion culture. My travel essentials for this trip include a  Retro Fox classic pique polo because no matter where you are in the US it's a step up from a t-shirt. The Jacob Davis raw denim jeans make everything I wear look cool and they're perfect for fall. For shoes I chose my beat up Chuck Taylors, they're like a fine wine and get better with age. And I recently got the bracelet from Giles and Brother and it immediately became one of my staples. When I travel I avoid looking like a tourist at all costs and find that pieces like these do the trick.
