A Day With Lady Liberty

I've lived in New York City for about 15 years, boy time flies! Never had I visited the Statue of Liberty. One of my goals for this year is to take advantage of this wonderful city. With everything happening in the political arena more than ever this symbol of liberty stands out as a beacon on what this country was built upon. Guys, if you ever have the chance go to this National Park, marvel at the view of downtown New York City and of this national symbol of liberty.

Must-Have Accessories for Fall 16

The weather has been all over the place but we are finally feeling the temperatures drop! That means it's time to get yourself some great accessories for the season. I've looked high and low and found some scarves, beanies, watches, sunglasses and even a backpack that will have you ready and stylish for whatever mother nature throws at you this season.

Get the combo deal. This scarf and beanie from the GAP is classic and easy to add on to your wardrobe. (Watch- Nixon)

Think of the Cuff. Make sure to have a cool cuff like this one from George Frost, it goes perfect with a great time piece like this Nixon watch. Let's not forget to include a cap from Gents for that extra cool factor.

This is the type of shade you want- RAEN eyewear partnered with a beanie from Original Penguin.
The bomber needs no formal introduction, check this one out by Exley.

Let your scarf do all the talking. A statement piece like this scarf from the GAP is an easy way to be bold in just the right the way.

Cute puppy not included. Fjallraven has released their classic Kanken backpack with black on black leather detailing! It's like they read my mind. (Shirt- Life/After/Denim | Cap- Gents)

Bold High-low Fashion

I saw this banded collar shirt at the Carlos Campos' studio and did not think twice about getting it. This shirt was a bit bolder than what I'm used to but I took that as a challenge to style it my way. I wore it here with a pair of my favorite chinos from the GAP and my black Givenchy lace-ups. With more and more talented men's fashion designers creating amazing pieces that can fit your everyday wardrobe easy combinations like this can be a common place occurrence. This look is a great mix of high-low fashion. When making that higher end purchase make sure you love the piece, don't just get it because it's trendy. You'll see how much easier it will be to show your style know-how when it's time to wear it out.

To the onlooker it might seem I'm going sockless, what they don't see are my Mack Weldon no-show socks.

A Bit of A Western Feel

I've been a fan of the denim on denim trend for quite some time. But I've been wondering how I can put my own spin on it especially for this season. Once, I got my hands on this Bailey hat it got me thinking and this is what I came up with. It has a bit of a western feel and I'm diggin' it. To counter the all blue look I added some black accessories like the hat, belt, shoes and even one of the bracelets.

The Seiko Astron Watch

I was invited to take the new Seiko Astron GPS Solar watch for a spin around NYC as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars, #AstronElite.

The first thing I noticed when I put on the watch is how light it was. Other watches of the same style tend to be heavy and bulky this one is none of these. There are a couple of things that make this watch special. For starters, the Seiko Astron watch is powered by all kinds of light. Taking technology to the next level the watch receives GPS signals and can identify the time zone, time and date using the global network of GPS satellites. This watch is perfect for the man that's always on the go. With the Seiko Astron watch all you have to do is put it on. You won't need to ever change the battery or adjust the time. Now that's luxury.

A Roof With a View

On a recent visit to a friend's apartment in Brooklyn, we went up to the roof to enjoy the summer evening and beautiful skyline while the weather still permits. This summer my go-to pieces are khakis like these from the GAP and canvas shoes from Sperry Top-Siders, which work really well to climb ladders. Another summer essential is the stripe t-shirt. They're an easy way to add some character with minimal accessories. How are you spending the last days of summer?

Add Some Color To Your Summer

Summer is a great time to wear color- do not be afraid of it! For a more subtle approach to color watch out for the intensity of the colors. This look includes a rich green pair of chinos with a light blue oxford shirt and red sunglasses for a touch of contrast.

Note- The oxford shirt is a must-have for summer, especially one that is made of Egyptian cotton like this one from Hugh & Crye. The medium weight of the fabric makes it a great option for the warmer climate. Also, you can't go wrong with a light blue shirt. They work well for adventures around town during the weekend and for more professional settings during the week.

Adding a Layer to Your Summer Outfit

Denim Shirt- GAP | T-Shirt MeUndies | Short- J.Crew | Watch- Daniel Wellington

We're in mid August and as much as I love the fall I don't want to let go of the comfort that is wearing shorts day in and day out. On a trip to the Miami Children's Museum where this picture was taken I wanted to step away from the norm but still wear my shorts so I put on a denim shirt over my t-shirt. I'm glad to say the denim shirt is here to stay and you can find them at places like GAP, True Religion and even Zegna. This American classic should be your go-to layering piece not only this summer but for every season.

After writing about the different lesser known options for men's underwear I continued learning about more new brands, this time they're all based in the USA. The first one is MeUndies, they're probably the softest I've ever felt and they also do t-shirts and socks for men and women. I'm sure you've heard of Wrangler but did you know they also do underwear? Their price point is hard to beat and you'll find they have a wide variety of colors and styles. I also found out about Justin Case, this underwear brand is only a few weeks old and you must check them out. They're a great flattering cut and their simple logo makes for a less distracting design. Men, there are more and more options out there for underwear check these options and see the difference.

Get The Look For Fall III

Get The Look:

I got a little artsy on the picture above, hope you don't mind. The temperature here in SoCal has been unseasonably warm for this time of year but finally we're in the 60's so now we can wear sweaters. On the last installment of Get The Look For Fall II I wore a tweed blazer. Here my focus is on the tweed tie. I got mine at American Eagle of all places and wear it as often as I can. Partnered with a black v-neck sweater, which every man should have and an olive/ military green shirt it makes for a great modern look. I pair it here jeans but you can easily wear chinos too.

Coveting: Spring 2012

The trench coat is always on trend which makes it a classic piece. This season as I was looking around my local GAP I found the Double- Breasted Moto jacket. Its not exactly a trench coat but it has the nice blend of double breasted detailing associated with a trench coat and the edge of the motorcycle jacket. My favorite part was the length, it hits right below the waist. For some similar options the bottom two are from Express and John Varvatos + USA. Images via GAP, Express, JohnVarvatos
